Tonight I got to go out with wonderful bunch of bros n sis’ to evangelize in Duffield Hall. Duffield Hall on a Saturday Night is a great place to EV, I think, because people invariably ask themselves what they are doing there…which leads to asking themselves what they are doing on Earth.Tonight we had Shawn, Pastor Paul Epp, Daniel(dude I don’t know your last name), Amy and Yvette. We got to talk to about 4 people total and indeed God was both gracious to us and to those who heard. It was a great pleasure to go with my new friend Daniel. It was particularly pleasurable because I found God reminding me of the call to love Himself deeply and the lost deeply through my brother’s passion.

It was a joy to speak to a nice Hindu girl ( whose name we totally forgot to ask). She told us that she is practicing but admitted readily that she is still young and her heart is still in a formative stage. Please pray that God would get a hold of her. One of the many interesting comments that came out of that conversation was her notion that truth ought not be paramount in religious considerations, but rather it ought to be the philosophy of life and the effects on your life. What do you think? (comment hint hint).

Pastor Paul shared a anecdote (pastors are full of anecdotes):

A Sunday school teacher asked: What is faith? A little boy responded: It’s believing what you know to be not true.

I think if we read that too fast we might actually think it makes sense. Do you believe in a lie for the sake of spiritual comfort? Do you pay the price of fellowship so you can have friends? Paul literally shouted at the Romans (ch9) that he was NOT LYING ABOUT CHRIST! A wretched sinner am I that I should forget the reality and truth of Christ. Faith is a deep, rich and beautiful thing. Don’t have “faith that it’ll be ok”, have faith that Christ paid it all!

Happy Lord’s Day.
